“We developed the program with two goals. The first goal was to give children the skills they need to manage their mental health independently. I felt like I didn’t have anything going for me.” Samantha Wesley was headed down a dangerous path as a young teen. “When I graduated from the program, it was the first real thing that I actually accomplished in my life, and it made me feel very proud of myself.” The Juvenile Mental Health Court of Wayne County provided the resources and support that Samantha needed to go from an at-risk teen to a successful young adult.
